Careers fair to show wide range of working opportunities – News & Star

A CAREERS fair will showcase a wide range of employment and skills training later this year.
The Carlisle Careers Fair, which takes place on October 5 at The Halston Hotel, will feature stalls from several businesses, from retail to engineering, finance to healthcare.
People attending can meet local and national employers and apply directly for hundreds of vacancies.
The fair is open to anyone and a wide variety of roles and opportunities will be highlighted, such as entry-level and management roles; apprenticeships, graduate roles, franchise opportunities, part-time and full-time roles, flexible working opportunities, working-from-home roles, CV advice, career advice and national job boards.
Companies exhibiting on the day include:
A spokesperson from Viberoptix, an Ireland-based fibre broadband company that has bases in the North West of England and Penrith, said: “We have supervisor roles and office positions, the likes of project co-ordinator, and planners and designers who will design the infrastructure of the fibre cable.
“We’ll also need fibre splicers, so we’re looking for people with an electrical background, but we provide training for all of our roles.”
The event is free to attend, and runs from 10am to 2pm.
