Severn Trent is creating jobs across Leicestershire for a campaign to help people reduce their domestic bills by making their homes 'water-efficient'.
The recruitment drive, which also covers Derbyshire, aims to find 100 new 'community water-saving champions. The recruits will organise public events and visit homes to share tips from Severn Trent on how best to reduce water and other energy costs.
A spokesperson said the project aimed to help households which are struggling with rising domestic costs and prices across the board. They said: “At a time when people are facing cost-of-living pressures, sharing advice on how to make homes more water efficient will help reduce water and energy bills.

“These new roles will include taking part in pop-up events at various locations across Derbyshire and Leicestershire such as supermarkets and local attractions and visiting people's homes. So, if you’re a confident people-person, a good listener and are interested in helping people, we’d love to hear from you!”
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, offering between 16 and 37 hours of work a week. The water-saving champions will receive £12 per hour, while team leaders will earn £15 per hour.
Severn Trent said full training would be provided. Anyone interested in the roles can find out more on the Severn Trent website.
